A Timely Lecture at UNC

UNC 3076

In the beginning, I thought my greatest joy would come from taking photos. However, I have come to find out that my greatest joys have come from developing other young photographers to take photos (or videos).

I will never forget in 2010, when my alma mater, UNC, called me to deliver a lecture on campus.  I was honored that UNC would give me such a great opportunity!

I thought that the evening was about what I could give to the students and university, but I would later come to find out that God was orchestrating a much grander story.

Sitting in the audience, unbeknownst to me, was Lydia Walker, who 3 years later would become our first full time hire, and still currently serves as our creative director!

I am so grateful for how this story ended and for the amazing work Lydia Walker (now Lydia Morgan) has provided to SI for the past 5 years!

Free cup of Brakeman’s coffee to the first person that can pick out the back of her head in the audience!

Grateful,

David
